Heat pump rebates in BC: an Okanagan homeowner starting guide
Check current BC heat-pump incentive pathways, eligibility questions, and the project details to prepare before requesting an Okanagan HVAC quote.

British Columbia heat-pump and home-efficiency incentives can change, and eligibility may depend on income, the existing heating system, home type, utility account, equipment, contractor, and application timing. Check the current official program before buying equipment or signing a contract.
Start with eligibility—not an advertised maximum
Provincial information describes income-qualified heat-pump support and additional home-renovation rebates, but the amount available to one household depends on current program rules. Use the official estimator or program contact and apply before purchasing whenever the program requires it.
Prepare the home and system details
Collect the present heating type, equipment age, home type, approximate heated area, utility provider, electrical service information if known, comfort problems, and any insulation or window concerns. A contractor still needs to assess sizing and installation conditions.
- • Current fuel and heating equipment
- • Detached, duplex, townhome, condo, or apartment
- • Rooms that are too hot or cold
- • Existing ducts or proposed indoor-unit locations
- • Outdoor-unit access and noise considerations
- • Electrical panel information if safely visible
Confirm the contractor and equipment pathway
Some programs require eligible equipment, registered or program-approved contractors, pre-approval, or specific documentation. Confirm those conditions directly with the program before treating a quote as rebate-eligible.
Request a comparable written scope
Ask providers to identify equipment model, capacity and sizing basis, indoor and outdoor components, electrical work, permits, condensate and drainage, controls, commissioning, removal, warranties, exclusions, and the rebate assumptions used.
